The League to Save Lake Tahoe will celebrate the official start of summer with a garden party featuring food, beverages and live music.

The fourth annual Summer Kickoff Native Garden Celebration takes place from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the League to Save Lake Tahoe’s office.

“We kindly invite you to join us for our 4th annual Summer Kickoff to celebrate the beauty of native gardening,” according to a description of the event from the nonprofit, which is also known as Keep Tahoe Blue. “Learn all about native landscapes, tour our native garden and learn more about the League and what you can do to help Keep Tahoe Blue. Bring your friends and family while we get together to recognize our dedicated volunteers and enjoy live music, free food and beverages. We’ll have great raffle prizes and 15-percent off our store items.”

People are encouraged to ride their bikes to the free event. All ages are welcome, but pets should be left at home.

“Experts from Tahoe Outdoor Living will conduct tours of our gardens,” according to the League to Save Lake Tahoe. “Ice cold beer will be donated by Blue Moon Brewing. Food will be provided by The Cork & More. Wine is from Robert Mondavi Winery.”
