Legal Services gives free court advice

Legal Services of Northern California offers a Pro Per Project from noon to 3 p.m. every Tuesday on the second floor of the El Dorado County Superior Courthouse on Johnson Boulevard. Funds in the amount of $74,000 have been approved for the project for 2001 by the State Bar.

Legal Services personnel help people 60 years of age and over and all people who meet an income requirement. They fill out legal forms, but they do not give legal advice or represent people. Neither do they handle any criminal matters. Questions are answered on a first-come first-served basis.

Pro Per Project, which was started in June 2000, was organized by attorney Patricia Pechtel. For more information call (530) 823-7602, Ext. 110.
