Legion hosts Patriot Day service today

American Legion Post 795 will remember Sept. 11, 2001, with a memorial service today, Patriot Day. The service will begin at 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Post, 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The public is invited to attend and honor the firefighters and police officers who died Sept. 11, 2001, as well as honor all the military men and women. Cake and coffee will be served following the service.

The American flag should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Patriot Day. For more information call the American Legion at (530) 541-8788 or Gene Ross at (530) 542-3646.
