Letter — Coach thanks field of sponsors

I would like to thank the following businesses that have contributed to the South Tahoe High School Softball Program.

Thank you to Barton Hospital, Hatch Electric, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Bank of the West, Scotty’s Hardware, Horizon Casino Resort, Tahoe Spectrum Painting, ASA girls softball and Ponderosa Glass, Inc.

Last year the softball program converted the second baseball diamond on the Field of Dreams into a softball diamond for our high school softball program. These local businesses donated money to the program so we could put in new dugouts, a sprinkler system, sod and infield mix. We now have two softball diamonds at the high school so that both the varsity and the junior varsity can play a the same time, side by side. Coupled with this, the local ASA girls softball program will be able to use these fields to practice and play games this summer.

We are continuing to raise money to add more the field like a batting cage, score shed and maintenance equipment. Banners will be placed on the outfield fence this year of businesses that have donated $350 or more. If your business would like to have a banner on the outfield fence contact Rich Barna at (530) 541-0146.

To all the businesses that have supported South Tahoe High School Softball — I thank you.

Rich Barna, varsity head coach
