Letter — Homesick in Las Vegas

I grew up in South Lake Tahoe (1971-1989) now that I live in Las Vegas, gone are those quiet snowy nights, hoping that it will snow real hard on Sunday night so that there will be no school on Monday.

Gone is the smell of those pine trees.

Gone are those summers spent at Baldwin Beach.

Gone is that hike to Star Lake with my friends.

Gone is that South Tahoe “Rush Hour” traffic (I thought going to the “Y” from Stateline was bad — try living here).

As I grow older, and living in other parts of the country, the more I think of growing up in South Lake Tahoe and miss the things I took for granted while living there! So I envy all of you who live up there! You don’t know what you have!
