Letter — Nursing facility thanks sponsors

The new year is upon us once again. I would like to thank the many people who have donated their time and gifts to the residents at Barton Skilled Nursing Facility.

Just to name a few that have made a difference in the lives of our residents:

Thanks to the South Tahoe Public Utility District and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department for helping Santa’s elves and the Tahoe Daily Tribune, Harrah’s/Harveys, Caesars, Horizon, Barton Auxiliary, Don Garcia Construction, Burger King, Costco, A-1 Glass, Raleys, Kid Pix and R/T Cleaners in Gardnerville, Nancy Specchio and the Lions Club for their generous donations.

Thank you to Transitional Choice, the pet’s visits from volunteers with the Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A.; Gloria Stindelbower, Kelly Humphrey and Daniel Rivas, the Earth Angels for donating their precious time; and South Shore Christian Assembly, First Baptist Church, Hope Lutheran, Calvary Chapel, St. Theresa, the Rev. John Grace and Glenn Smith for spreading the word of God.

To the many other volunteers, schools, groups and organizations not mentioned — thank you for caring.

Lisa Schenzel, activity director
