Letter — Optimist tree sale was successful

The South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club is just concluding its 36th annual Christmas tree sale. Thanks to the support of the citizens of South Shore it was very successful. They money raised will be funding many local youth activities.

Besides the members and families of the Optimist Club working at the tree lot, we would also like to thank Tahoe Turning Point, South Tahoe High School Naval Junior ROTC, Boys and Girls Club of South Lake Tahoe and South Tahoe Middle School Club Live for their hands-on support.

Various enterprises at the South Shore provided services to our Christmas tree sales enabling more funds to help our children. These businesses include Sierra Pacific Power Co., South Tahoe Refuse, Bi State Propane, V&C Construction, Al’s Chevron Way and Burger Kings.

A special thanks to the South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department for allowing us to use the boat ramp parking lot again this year. Thanks to all your support the Optimist Club will continue to help kids.
