Letter: Roads need improvement

I would like to thank the good people of Lake Tahoe for their hospitality and help during our stay in your town last month.

However, there are two comments that I would like to make in regards to some of your basic infrastructure.

We arrived by car on Friday night around 6:30 p.m. and it was dark with the difficulty of not being able to discern the lane markings on the road. That and the many pot holes and long cracks in the road.

I had extreme difficulty in figuring out where the lanes were and where they ended when having to merge, etc. I noted when leaving town, the problem seemed to last to around Bridal View Falls where the road started to improve.

For such a risk-adverse nation, I cannot understand why such basics as painted road markings are not in your local authorities’ purview or your ratepayers.

Apart from that, I would recommend to everyone at home to make a visit to your lovely town.
