Letter — Soroptimist helps reading council

On behalf of the many beneficiaries — young and old — of the Lake Tahoe Reading Council, we would like to thank the officers and members of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra for their generous support of the LTRC Baby Book Bag program. Your one-month contribution will brighten the days — and lives — of this community’s future readers.

The popular Baby Book Bag program works with the maternity ward at Barton Memorial Hospital to provide newborns and their parents with reading materials, information on the importance of literacy, and a complimenty “Born to Read” T-shirt. The program is part of the LTRC’s larger commitment to promote literacy in South Lake Tahoe.

Any individual or organization interested in sponsoring this worthwhile program can contact the LTRC at (530) 541-2850, Ext. 333.
