Letter — Tahoe dangerous to pedestrians

Have you ever driven on Pioneer Trail or between the “Y” and Stateline, especially at night, during the winter months, when there is an abundance of fresh snow on the ground?

Without sidewalks, and proper snow removal, where there are sidewalks, be they “locals” or visitors, they are forced to get out on Pioneer Trail or Highway 50 to get from point “A” to “B” if they don’t own a car or other means of transportation. Accidents waiting to happen!

Where applicable, the property owners or the city should be forced to maintain a safe walking area, so that pedestrians are not forced to compete with motor vehicles to get to their destination.

When there are accidents between pedestrians and motor vehicles, the pedestrian loses every time.
