LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Construction workers should be careful when smoking

Last week when I was being held up in traffic standing still on Pioneer Trail, with police in their cars watching all the road workers were smoking cigarettes and flicking the lit butts into the forest.

Am I missing something? Did a new law pass encouraging forest fires so someone can rip off the Red Cross again? No one else I know is allowed to smoke cigarettes all day while they are supposed to be working. Let alone litter and cause fire. Those butts eventually end up in our lake after rain and snow.
