LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Indolent driver shatters the heart of a neighborhood
A tragic incident occurred at Cayuga Circle on Sept. 13 at about 7:45 a.m. I was getting ready for work, taking things to my car while my beloved dog, Cooper, was lying on the street as he did many times while I was doing such. As I went into the house, a speeding silver car came down our quiet street and hit our precious golden retriever. Not only did the car hit my dog, the driver left the scene without even stopping. Cooper was the neighborhood dog always out to greet passersby with a wagging tail and friendly bark.
How could someone so carelessly hit a dog and not even stop to check on him?
To the person who as done such an awful thing, I hope you live with a huge continence on you shoulders knowing that you have taken a precious life without even looking back. Not only is this a quiet street where our animals walk freely, this is also a road where our children play! If this person didn’t stop for a dog, what would happen if this was a child? Cooper will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
