LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Looking for owner of lost ring
While at the Sahara Casino in South Tahoe about 29 years ago (1982 or 1983), someone had misplaced a ring – a very nice-looking woman’s ring. I found the ring, and failed to turn it in during that time. I had some problems in my life then, and needed the money.
I had pawned the ring at a pawn shop, and then my grandmother gave me some money for the ring, and it has been on her finger until her death at age 97 last week.
She had always told the family that when she dies that the ring was to be returned to me. I straightened my life out a couple of years after finding the ring. It has being laying heavy on my conscience for years, and I wanted to make an attempt to return the ring to its rightful owner. I know it’s like finding a needle in a haystack, but at least I feel I need to try. If I cannot locate the rightful owner, then I will most likely sell the ring, and donate the money to a charitable cause. If you have any idea who this ring belongs to, please contact me at 916-202-9865.
