LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Meat store owner lauds benefits of gravy

With so many people complaining about SnowGlobe, I just wanted to let my thoughts out on this.

As a business owner in our city of South Lake Tahoe, I could certainly see the effects it had on my business. An extra 10,000 people in our city in a “dry” season absolutely helped all business on the South Shore. I can’t imagine how much less business there might had been had SnowGlobe not been going on.

Our town is changing and so is business on the South Shore. “Swim or Sink” is what I say about change, and I am a swimmer!



We must find ways like this to bring and encourage people in our city. It is give and take in this town. I am sorry for the people that were affected in a negative way; however, business is what keeps our city dollars flowing. Without my customers, we would not be here. Without tourists, there isn’t any extra or “gravy” dollars flowing.

Again, we must work together and keep the desire to come to Lake Tahoe. Especially when there isn’t any snow.



PS: If we could figure it out, the “Hole in the ground” or “Tahole” would make a great stadium and is located at the “party end” of town.
