LETTER TO THE EDITOR: More stinky pot

The letter regarding a neighbor “growing pot” has cleared up a debate my neighbors and I have been having all summer. Are there now skunks in Tahoe? Where we used to sit on the patio and so enjoy the smell of the pine trees, we now have this very distasteful odor that frequently permeates the outdoors.

Naïve as we are in these matters, we thought “maybe it’s a dead animal somewhere,” or “I bet it’s a plant that is decaying” or “no, it has to be a skunk.” Having lived in my house for over 25 years, and never having to experience this before, if it is pot, you can better believe I will be voting against all measures to further legalize marijuana. This is so totally unacceptable to compromise our wonderful environment.
