Letter to the editor: Plastic-bag ban is a no-brainer

My oh my! The responses to the City Council’s balk at banning plastic bags in Friday’s newspaper were right on. Our city’s Sustainability Commission are also right on. “Bring Your Own Bag” Council, this is the 21st century. We have used bags for over a year now, and yes, we do clean them so that we don’t spread food-borne illnesses like E.coli. In fact, all are friends who come to Tahoe do the same. We are all bag people. With all the issues before you, this one is a no-brainer. Council, do something for the enviroment and what’s left of our beautiful area. Don’t study this one to death. Move on and we will all be better. No more plastic bags.
