LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Re: Fuels reduction
Thank you Mark Allen of Meyers for the comment on my letter regarding fuel reduction in our forests. I agree with you all the way that it definitely needs to be done. What you’re not getting is the way they are doing this thinning. The crews are leaving a big mess on the forest floors. Take a walk in the area between Mandan and Sitka Circle and see the big mess! There is more fuel on the forest floor now than before they began. If they’re going to cut trees, do it with some respect! We live up in the hills above Meyers for the beauty. Why can’t we thin forests and still maintain the beauty. I think we can!
