LETTER TO THE EDITOR: South Lake Tahoe has ‘drugged’ image

I am writing because I am concerned about our community. On a recent search for a place to rent in here in South Lake Tahoe, I was asked on numerous occasions if I was “420 friendly.”

For those of you who do not know they are asking in street terms if I am OK with smoking marijuana.

This town is a beautiful and wonderful place to live and here we have a drug problem. This small town also has three marijuana dispensaries.

People come from all over the world to enjoy this majestic place and the image this gives off is of a drugged community. I wish that our city government and community would put a stop to the rampant drugs through our community.

Other drugs are prevalent but stopping the sale and promotion of marijuana in our community would go a long way to making this community an even better place to live.
