LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Visitor disappointed about commons closure

I spent the last two weeks of August this year in wonderful South Lake Tahoe. Over the past 30-plus years, I have had the good fortune to be a frequent visitor. Thank you to all the wonderful folks that make my time there so enjoyable.

Can someone please explain, why was Lakeview Common closed for what must have been the busiest two weeks of the summer tourist season? How rerouting the river that runs through the golf course is going to stop the natural erosion caused by fast flowing water? Check out the Colorado River! What business does any local government have in the property development business?

Don MacKay,

Vancouver, B.C.
