Letter to the editor: Why isn’t anyone listening to voters?

A couple of thoughts: I know it isn’t standard practice, but to be completely fair to the voters, when a City Council person steps down, shouldn’t that person be replaced by offering the position to the candidate who had the next most votes in the last election and, if they decline, keep going down the line? Why should the council be the ones to pick who they think would be best? The voters already said who they thought should be running the town (It’s us, isn’t it?) On the national front, the Republicrat party has failed us miserably! To all you Democrats out there who think it is only the Republicans who cater to big business and have no morals, think again! Your Democratic Party is even worse and it is becoming so obvious. Almost all the politicians – including the great one, Obama – have sold us out. All I hear is “blah, blah, blah!”
