Letters to the editor March 14-17, 2009

As the event chair for South Lake Tahoe’s Relay For Life, I would like to respond to the letter in Friday’s Tribune (“Poor choice of venue for cancer benefit”) and clarify that the Cabaret Theater is smoke-free. While the casino floor has smokers, the venue and event itself will be smoke-free.

In addition, at the kickoff event, MIKE-E will discuss the harms of tobacco use. Horizon Casino Resort and MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa are strong supporters for the event, and we appreciate their generosity for providing a venue and helping out with the kickoff.

We hope that anyone interested in learning more about the fight against cancer, Relay For Life and ways to get involved will come by the Horizon’s Cabaret Theater from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.

Hello all you Major League Baseball fans and followers. I’m conducting a brief survey, and I’d appreciate your feedback.

Who would you personally like to see inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame:

Barry Bonds, accused of using steroids; or Pete Rose, who was banned from baseball for wagering on baseball?

Which is my pick? Hey ” who’s taking this survey, me or you?

The new dog park is so wonderful and has become a popular place! However, the mud problem needs to be addressed.

The area where people and dogs enter and leave in the gate enclosure is horrible. I have to give my dogs a bath every time we go.

With all of the construction companies in this town, maybe someone would be willing to help fix the situation.

There would be a lot of grateful dog owners.
