Library celebrates national sign-up month

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – During September, the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library will celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month with activities for children, teens and adults.

The local library provides free access to millions of dollars worth of books, databases of news articles, magazines, audiovisual materials, encyclopedias, test preparation and career materials. The library also provides free computer access, e-books and deals on DVDs.

Elementary students, by signing-up for a new library card or using an existing library card will be entered in a drawing for an Ice Cream Party for the entire class and a $75 gift certificate for the teacher, to be used for school supplies.

Students in the middle and hIgh schools will be entered in a drawing for a $25 iTunes gift certificate when they use a current card of sign up for a new one.

Adult participants will be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Rude Brother’s Bagel and Coffee Shop when using their cards or getting a new card.
