Library late fees can be dog food

If that library book that you checked out last spring is still sitting in a pile of books underneath your desk, you can purge your guilt.

Lake Tahoe Community College is offering amnesty to tardy patrons. Through Dec. 20 people can return their overdue items to the library with a can of dog or cat food and their fines will be forgiven. The pet food will go to the animals at the Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A.

The library also is extending its hours to help out students studying for finals. Starting Dec. 2 through Dec. 5 the library will be open until 10 p.m. and serving free coffee. Students looking to study late and take caffeine breaks can do both at the library.

For more information call the LTCC library at (530) 541-4600, Ext. 232.
