Library schedules holiday program

Staff report

Holiday festivities will begin at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library at 2 p.m. Dec. 24 with The Performing Penguins. The Performing Penguins –Chris, Darla and Damita Bayer — will lead the audience in holiday songs.

The Bayer family has performed for libraries and schools in Nevada and California. They have recorded several CDs including “That Old V&T,” “Are We There Yet” and “Coyote and His Friends.” Their CDs reflect their interest in American roots music coupled with interest in early Nevada history, particularly as soon through the experiences of children.

The interactive family holiday program is free and all ages are invite to come and sing along. The spirit of the yuletide giving will be encouraged by asking those who can to bring a canned good or nonperishable items offering for others. All canned items will be donated to Christmas Cheer.
