Lillian Ruth Quandt

Memorial services will take place at a later date for Lillian Ruth Quandt, who died Dec. 4, 2004, at Gardnerville, Nev. She was 81.

Lillian was born Sept. 1, 1923, at San Francisco, and was a life-long resident of the city. She was the daughter of Furbee and Irene Holbrook. She graduated from Balboa High School, and at 19 years of age she married Walter O. Quandt.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge. She also was on the Altar Guild at St. Francis Episcopal Church in San Francisco. She had worked for Crown Zellerbach and also for Blake, Moffet & Towne as an executive assistant.

She loved to knit, crochet, garden and play the piano. She also enjoyed spending time at South Lake Tahoe with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Henry S. Quandt of Lincoln City, Ore.; son-in-law, Jose Mercado of South Lake Tahoe; and grandchildren, Michael V. Quandt of Bovolone, Italy, and Justin and Jennifer Mercado of South Lake Tahoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter O. Quandt; brother, Eugene Holbrook; and daughter, Margaret Mercado.

Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s research.
