Little Big Sun gives donation

Little Big Sun, a San Francisco youth foundation, donated $1,500 to the Ordinary People meeting Extraordinary Needs organization in 1999. In October 2000 Steve Bailey, creator, director and coordinator of the Valhalla Renaissance Festival, donated $1,000 to OPEN.

“We were very impressed with the lives that OPEN effects, both emotionally and financially, the volunteer teen age boys from Tahoe Turning Point, who helped by hauling bales of hay to every booth and their sincere gratitude expressed for the 1999 donation,” Bailey said.

Community leaders who worked in the wine garden at the Valhalla Festival included Tod Wallace, Mike Webber, Ron Weiss, Ginny Thornton, Anita Shields, Betty Mitchell, Mort Marley, Zelma Gillette, Nora Flamengo, Ruth Easton, Dorris Bailey, Steve Bailey, Lena Brum, Doris Aeberli, Ken Avery and Art McAlice.

“OPEN is very grateful for the generosity of the Baileys and their flamboyant giving group of fellows for two years contributions toward South Tahoe residents with extraordinary serious health needs,” said Carol Goodenough, OPEN president.
