Little League All-Star tournaments under way

Two South Shore Little League All-Stars have completed tournament play, and three more teams are take the field in the coming weeks.

The Renegades finished district tournament play last week, making the quarterfinal round. The South Tahoe All-Stars used a victory over Carson Valley to qualify for the final eight in their tournament.

The Hooligans, who were made up of 11- and 12-year-olds, went 0-4 in tournament play.

The South Tahoe 9-10 All-Stars, who are managed by Joby Cefalu, opened tournament play on Sunday at Governors Field in Carson City. The All-Stars also play Monday at 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 5 p.m. All of their games are on field No. 2.

The South Tahoe 11-12 All-Stars and 10-11 All-Stars will open their tournaments the following week in the Carson Valley. The double-elimination district tournaments run from July 12-20.

The 11-12 All-Stars are managed by Dan Miller, while the 10-11 All-Stars are skippered by Tim Cain.
