Skateboarding and punk rock go hand in hand, and South Lake Tahoe’s Skatehouse Skate Park will host some of both this weekend.

A benefit for the indoor skate park starting Sunday afternoon will feature Lake Tahoe punk band South Shore Riot, as well as Reno punk bands Vampirates and Boss’ Daughter among its lineup of performers. The latter recently released its debut full-length album, “Songs are Songs,” and a tour documentary on website Dying Scene and lives by the ethos of creating “maximum party time.”

South Shore hard rock and metal band Bionic Gorilla is also scheduled to play at the benefit, which also features Ripon, California, “hip-hop and gypsy rock outfit” BONUSTRAXX and a DJ performing between bands.

Skateboarding will start at 12 p.m. in the skate park’s wooden bowl. Bands will start performing at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The suggested donation to attend the event is $10.

Skatehouse Skate Park is located at 867 Eloise Ave. in South Lake Tahoe
