Body pulled from lake on Tahoe’s South Shore

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — The body of South Shore resident David Mark Flynn was pulled from Lake Tahoe Tuesday, Feb. 29.

According to Lieutenant Matt Underhill of El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, Flynn, 53, of South Lake Tahoe was discovered in the water near a pier behind The Beach Retreat and Lodge. There were no signs of trauma and foul play is not suspected.

“The autopsy did not give a definitive cause of death,” Underhill said. “It is still under investigation.”

Underhill confirmed that this may be the first body recovered from Lake Tahoe’s South Shore this year.

“It’s not common for people to end up in the lake fully clothed,” he said, adding that it’s unknown how Flynn’s body came to be in the water.
