On Saturday, Dec. 10, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue kicks off its annual tradition of passing out candy canes to children in the community — an event that began approximately 20 years ago. For two weeks, a fire engine decorated for the holidays will drive through a different neighborhood each night and get residents in the Christmas spirit.

All community members are invited to attend the festivities, which start each night at 5 p.m. when the engine leaves Fire Station 3. See below for the current schedule. Residents are advised that this lineup is weather-dependent, and may be changed due to driving conditions and emergency responses.
