County releases draft ordinance update
A draft of a proposed update of El Dorado County ordinances is available for public review and comment, the Board of Supervisors announced Monday.
The draft is a strike-through and underlined version of the county code showing all of the proposed changes.
“The legislative draft of the county ordinance code is the result of a review of more than 1,000 pages of county code for the purpose of modernization and readability,” said Jim Mitrisin, clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
The draft includes updated state and federal code references, standardized terminology and updated fee language as well as the removal of obsolete provisions.
The draft is split into two sections, one for the general code of ordinances and one for land development codes.
The public comment period runs through Aug. 22.
The draft is available on the board of supervisors’ webpage at http://www.edcgov.us/BOS/ or at the board of supervisors’ office, 330 Fair Lane, Placerville.
