CAVE ROCK, Nev. — Nevada Highway Patrol was investigating a collision between a bicyclist and a semi- or dumptruck Thursday on U.S. 50.
The incident was reported to authorities shortly before 10 a.m. It was still being investigated later that afternoon by the Major Accident Investigation Team, with one lane of the highway blocked to traffic.
The collision occurred in the Cave Rock tunnel, according to authorities.
The bicyclist, whose identity was not immediately available, sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Renown Medical Center for treatment, Trooper Dave Gibson said.
