On Friday, Bailey Gumm became only the third Douglas County resident to be named Miss Nevada.

A 2013 Douglas High School graduate, Bailey received the title of Miss Nevada 2016 in Las Vegas at the Tropicana.

She will represent Nevada at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, N.J. on Sept. 11. The pageant will be aired on ABC. In addition, Bailey won the Miss America Community Service Award.

In 2011, Bailey won the title of Miss Nevada’s Outstanding Teen. She was Miss Douglas County’s Outstanding Teen 2010 and Miss Douglas County 2013.

Carli Gumm, a sophomore at Douglas High School and little sister to Bailey, was first runner up in the teen division. She also won the physical fitness award and the shining star award.

Heather Renner, from Reno, won the title of Miss Nevada’s Outstanding Teen and will represent Nevada at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Fla., in August.
