Forest Service to hold open house on Off-Highway Vehicle use

Tribune staff report

Off-Highway Vehicle use on designated routes in the Lake Tahoe Basin will be the topic of discussion at an open house hosted by the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit on April 2.

The open house will give the public the chance to meet various Forest Service staff associated with Forest Service OHV, engineering, trails and recreation. Local OHV club members will also be available to talk about membership and Forest Service-sponsored volunteer opportunities, according to a press release.

Open house attendees will be able to ask questions about the LTBMU Motor Vehicle Use Map and the California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreational Grant application.

The event will run from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Forest Supervisor’s office, located at 35 College Drive in South Lake Tahoe. For more information, Tim Merten can be reached at 530-543-2863 or For reasonable accommodation access to the facility or proceedings, contact Adrian Escobedo at
