Five South Lake Tahoe residents, including incumbent councilwoman JoAnn Conner, have put forth their names for the November city council election.

In addition to Conner, Ted Long, Patrick Jarrett, Jason Collin and Robert Topel have filed the necessary paperwork to run for the two open seats on the South Lake Tahoe city council.

The filing period began on July 18 and was set to close on Aug. 12; however, because eligible incumbent councilmember Hal Cole notified the city that he would not be filing for candidacy, the closing date has been extended to Aug. 17 at 5 p.m.

The upcoming election will take place on Nov. 8.
