Kudos & Kindness: ‘A Toast to Twain’ was a success

South Lake Tahoe Friends of the Library, staff and volunteers wish to thank all in the community who helped to make our Nov. 3 fundraiser, “A Toast to Twain,” a great success.

McAvoy Layne donated his services to entertain us with stories of Mark Twain. Scores of local businesses contributed an array of certificates and other valuable items to the silent auction and the drawings for opportunity baskets. Dory Smith played live music and caterer Diane Wilkinson provided a delicious buffet. Because of the generosity of so many people, new books and other resources will soon be on the shelves of our local library.
