Kudos & Kindness: Dad’s breakfast was a success

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Lake Tahoe Environment Science Magnet School PTA hosted a Dad’s Breakfast. Students were invited to bring their dad, grandpa, father figure or special person to school for a wonderful breakfast. This great event brought hundreds of dads and students to school.

We would like to thank all of the dads, grandpas and special people who joined us. We are grateful that you took time out of your busy morning to support your children and strengthen their sense of community.

In addition, we would like to thank all of those who helped bring this event to life: the PTA for generously hosting the event; Mr. Dameral for supporting the event every step of the way; Ms. Joy and Shelley Giannotta for cooking up a wonderful breakfast; Mr. Juan for cleaning up a little more than usual; Michelle Ramirez, Beth Quandt, and Shira Mortorana for jumping into the kitchen; Andrea Irwin for serving more pumpkin bread and washing more dishes than one can imagine; James Mortorana making the movie happen; Mrs. Seely for pitching in; Leslie Amato, DeeDee Figeroa and Greg Hall for capturing the moments; Cheryl Orr for helping anywhere and everywhere; Annaleigh Novak for jumping in and washing dishes like a ghost; Barbara at Freel Perk for the delicious coffee; Mrs. Tarwater for delivering creamer; Dustin Evans for delivering the coffee; Karla Peuler for greeting the guests and keeping the line under control; Ms. Audra for printing hundreds of pictures; Ms. Kortney and Ms. Nikki for being flexible and accommodating; and Leslie Finnoff for guiding us fearlessly through our first dad’s breakfast.

We look forward to many more family and school events!
