Live Violence Free’s Day of Service

Special to the Tribune

After this harsh winter, so many of our homes and businesses are in dire need of a paint touch-up, some gardening or other cleanup projects to help keep our community beautiful. Like many other local buildings, we at Live Violence Free are gearing up to bring our office back to the polished, welcoming space it has been since we opened years ago.

We need your help with raking, gardening, painting, organizing, and sprucing up our South Lake Tahoe office location. Live Violence Free needs as many hands as possible to clean and decorate our building exterior to create a beautiful and safe environment for community members and families in need who come through our doors.

Stop by our office on Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to noon to volunteer your time and support. Come and lend a hand at South Lake Tahoe’s only organization serving community members impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

We will have many different projects to work on throughout the day, for people of all levels of ability and handiness. From painting birdhouses, to raking the yard or simply picking up debris, we need as many volunteers as possible to restore the beauty of our surroundings.

Please bring supplies necessary for yard-work and other projects if you have them. Make sure to come wearing comfortable shoes and clothing that you won’t mind getting dirty!
