News briefs: Daylight Saving Time ends, Meyers election and more


Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2 a.m. Make sure to turn your clock back by one hour before you head to bed on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District candidate elections will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the California Conservation Corps office, 1949 Apache Ave., Suite 318, in Meyers. Eight candidates are running for four available seats — two two-year terms and two four-year terms. Voters will be asked to select up to two candidates for each seat. Candidates for the pair of two-year seats are challengers Jan Roman-Gonzales and Frank Jones, and incumbents Joseph Cardinale and Peter Nelligan. Incumbents Victor Babbitt and Judy Klot are running for the two four-year seats along with Diane Verwoest and Brandi Jordan-Griffith.

Only residents within the Tahoe Paradise Resort Improvement District can vote for candidates.
