Marie Kayton Stewart was born Feb. 19 to James and Ashton Stewart of Coleville, California.

Elan Levi Levy was born Feb. 19 to Brian Levy and Erin Wiggins of South Lake Tahoe.

Aria Florence Hughes was born Feb. 20 to Bradley and Katherine Hughes of Zephyr Cove.

Elizabeth Holly Anderson was born Feb. 20 to Donovan and Courtney Anderson of South Lake Tahoe.

Steven Jackson was born Feb. 22 to Steven Jackson and Evelyn Jauregui Munos of South Lake Tahoe.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE CANCER LEAGUE MEETING

South Lake Tahoe Cancer League recently announced its next monthly meeting for Thursday, Feb. 25, at The Cantina Restaurant, 765 Emerald Bay Road. It starts at 11:30 am. The Cantina is offering choices, both Mexican and traditional American, for an all-inclusive price of $13.

A guest appearance by a mysterious person from Tahoe’s past — Charlie Parker, aka Dorothy Johnson of the Lake Tahoe Historical Society — will join the group.

South Lake Tahoe Cancer League welcomes all who would like to attend the meeting. The group is made up of volunteers who support South Shore residents battling cancer. It offers free transportation to cancer treatment and limited financial aid.

DOG OBEDIENCE CLASS

A six-week dog obedience course is planned for Kahle Community Center on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. The next session begins March 3 and runs through April 7. The fee is $80.

MARDI GRAS DANCE

Everyone of all ages is invited to a Mardi Gras Dance on Friday, Feb. 26. Tahoe Dance Band, a 17-piece group, plays a variety of music. It is not necessary to come with a partner.

Admission includes appetizers, desserts, beverages and a free door prize ticket for only $10. Those under 21 years of age pay only $5. There will be a raffle with good door prizes.

The event is located at South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
