News briefs: Tahoe Daily Tribune hires new editor, library fundraiser


Tahoe Daily Tribune is pleased to announce the hiring of its new managing editor, Caitlin Row. She hails most recently from Colorado, where she worked for two Swift Communications media organizations over the last decade — Summit Daily News and Grand Junction Free Press. Swift Communications is the parent company of Tahoe Daily Tribune. An avid skier, hiker and water-recreation enthusiast, she’s excited to enjoy all that South Lake Tahoe offers with her dog, Juliette. It was a dark and stormy night…

Join South Lake Tahoe Library on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 4-7 p.m. for a fundrasier —A Toast to Die For. Enjoy drinks, food, a silent auction, and presentations from four great mystery authors. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Library. Tickets cost $45, and they are available at the front desk; cash or check only please.
