Program offers services for disabled job seekers through Connections
Disabled job seekers in El Dorado County are invited to take advantage of free services and special funding offered through Connections — One Stop, according to the El Dorado County Health & Human Services Agency, Community Services Division.
The One Stop program can help disabled individuals search for a good job, develop a quality resume, enhance job interview skills and more, Program Supervisor Jenny Wilson said.
Services through the program include career assessment, tips on how to network and use social media, computer classes for beginners, help with interview skills, help creating and printing resumes, classes to boost self-confidence and more and access to job recruitment boards, computers copiers and fax machines.
Connections — One Stop currently has special funding just for disabled job seekers in the county to help pay for school tuition, paid work experience, job training and other services.
However, the special ends Aug. 30. Funding is provided on a first come, first served basis. Certain restrictions and conditions may apply.
The One Stop has two offices in El Dorado County, located at 3047 Briw Rd. in Placerville and 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
