South Lake Tahoe seeking applicants for board, commissions
South Lake Tahoe City Council is seeking applicants for positions on several city boards and commissions.
The positions are for two-year appointments on the following bodies:
Airport Land Use Commission:
Two members are needed to serve on the commission. Applicants must have expertise in aviation, by way of education, training, business, experience, vocation or avocation; has acquired and possesses particular knowledge of, and familiarity with, the function, operation, and role of airports; or is an elected official of a local agency which owns or operates an airport. The Airport Land Use Commission meets on an as-needed basis.
Building/ADA Board of Appeals:
City Council will be appointing seven members to the Building/ADA Board of Appeals. Applicants must fit one of the following criteria: is a plumbing contractor; is a heating and ventilating contractor; is an electrical engineer; is a general building contractor experienced in both residential and commercial construction; or is an architect or engineer. Each must have a valid California license and a minimum of five years experience in their field. Additionally, two members will be appointed who are physically handicapped persons. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Building/ADA Board of Appeals Commission meets on an as needed basis.
Parks & Recreation Commission:
Five members are needed to serve on the commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Parks and Recreation Commission meets at least quarterly.
City Council will be appointing five members to serve on the commission. Applicants must reside within the city limits. The Planning Commission meets monthly, assuming there is business to conduct.
Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 30. City Council will be making the appointments at a regularly scheduled meeting in January. The exact date has yet to be announced.
Applications are available at the South Lake Tahoe Clerk’s Office, located at 1901 Airport Road, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications can also be downloaded at http://www.cityofslt.us/commissions and mailed, faxed or emailed to interested parties upon request to the clerk’s office.
