1. Tahoe-area detectives are investigating an alleged assault at Northstar California Resort.
According to Kevin MacMillan of North Shore’s Sierra Sun, “On Wednesday, March 23, Danelle Muresan Foster, an Iowa resident, published her account of the alleged incident that she says occurred Feb. 25 at about 2:30 p.m. at the Vail Resorts-owned ski area. Her blog post at shredmom.com/blog details an apparent harrowing incident involving a snowboarder at Northstar punching her in the face after she approached him.”
Northstar officials respond to allegations in an online story.
2. The first Zika virus case is confirmed in Nevada’s Clark County.
“The Southern Nevada Health District said Thursday that a man who had recently traveled to Guatemala tested positive for Zika,” the Associated Press reported. “The mosquito species that spreads the virus hasn’t been found in the area, although the health district’s chief said its office is ready to trap the species if it turns up as it has in neighboring states.”
