TRPA accepting nominations for Best in the Basin awards

Tribune staff report

Nominations are now being accepted through March 31 for Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s 2014 Best in the Basin awards.

Now in its 25th year, the awards program was created to “recognize projects that demonstrate exceptional planning and design and compatibility with the environment and TRPA guidelines,” according to a TRPA announcement.

The five award categories in the program are building and construction projects, water quality restoration and erosion control projects, defensible space and forest health projects, public and Environmental Improvement Program projects, and sustainability projects.

Qualifying projects need to have been completed in 2014.
