Two week youth theater workshop begins June 16

A two-week musical theater workshop to improve acting, singing, dancing, improvisation and other skills begins June 16 for children entering 1st-9th grades.

Sierra Tahoe Children’s Theater will present the summer program, which runs Monday through Friday with a final performance in a musical theater production on the last day of the workshop.

All participants will be under the direction of South Tahoe High School drama teacher Nannette Niven and dance educator and choreographer Marcia Sarosik, and all participants are cast in the production.

Past participants from the program have gone on to leading roles in high school, college and professional theater, according to a press release.

The workshop costs $155 for children entering 1st and 2nd grade and $170 for those entering 3rd through 9th grade. It will be held at 2107 James Ave. for the first week, then move to the performance space for rehearsals and the show.
