Long-distance motorcyclist speaks

Hermalene Curran, a Gardnerville resident, is planning a world record achievement this September. The Pan American Highway runs through the western United States to southern Chili.

Curran hopes not only to finish, but in record time, to ride her motorcycle from one end to the other. A special program for all ages to hear her story will take place at 1:30 p.m. July 26 at the Lake Tahoe Branch Library in Zephyr Cove Park.

Curran will talk about her preparation, plans and goals. Her motorcycle, a 250 Honda Nighthawk, will be on display during the program.
