Long-time slide comes down

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Heavy machinery was used to dismantle the super-slide at the defunct amusement park off Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe. The amusement park has been called an example of “blight” by the City Council, but for some the slide held a lot of memories.

“Pretty much everyone that I know that grew up here that has seen this is pretty bummed,” said Chris Fountain, a resident who was working nearby. “Everyone has a story about the slide.”
