Long-time Tahoe resident Margie Daum to speak next Tuesday

Staff Report

Margie Daum, long-time resident of Lake Tahoe and member of Lake Tahoe Historical Society, is the featured speaker at the society’s annual meeting Tuesday, April 26.

She attended the one-room Lake Valley School in the 1940s. South Lake Tahoe, not yet an incorporated city, was a lonely little town in winter. Mrs. Daum will show a film made by the casinos to promote snow activities and will share her stories about early Tahoe life.

Members and friends of the society will meet 7 p.m. in Camp Richardson’s warm, rustic meeting room. The museum’s traveling mini book store will be available for your enjoyment.

Light refreshments and happy reminiscing will complete the evening. Call the museum at 530-541-5458 for additional information.
