The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge #1632, along with Sierra at Tahoe and Harrah’s-Harveys Lake Tahoe Casino & Resort, is sponsoring the fifth annual Longest Day of Golf on Thursday, June 24 at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course.

The Tahoe Paradise Golf Course has committed to helping this community fundraiser by donating its course for the entire day. Golfers will start at sun-up and play as many holes as they can before sundown. Last year, the golfers played 119 holes and raised more $10,000 for the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League. Over the past four years, the event has raised $40,000 for the nonprofit.

The golfers will be accepting pledges on a per-hole basis or a flat dollar donation amount. This year’s goals are to play 120 holes and raise at least $10,000. Everything for this event is donated and the manpower is volunteered. Every dollar pledged and collected goes to the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League. The monies that the league receives goes to providing financial assistance grants to cancer patients in South Lake Tahoe and free transportation to cancer therapy centers in Carson City and Reno.

To make a pledge, contact a registered participant or visit the Moose Lodge at 961 Eloise Ave. from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
